Brutalism
Named for the buildings that raised a generation of ravers — ten tracks of concrete-weight techno and weightless ambience.
Concrete, softened
Brutalism was written walking the estates of East London with a field recorder and a battered monosynth. Sirens, stairwells and bus brakes became oscillators; the album answers tower blocks with tenderness — kick drums like pile drivers under choirs of detuned Juno pads.
Every track was performed in single takes onto two-inch tape. What you hear is what happened in the room — no edits, no tuning, no apologies.

How it was made
One TR-909, one modular wall, a borrowed grand piano and the estate itself. Drums went down live with the room mics open; synths were overdubbed at dawn when the mains hum was lowest. Mixing took nine days — mastering, one afternoon, flat to vinyl.
